New Member Process
Are you interested in joining NMAR as a REALTOR® member?
First of all you'll need to have a Real Estate License that is hung in one of our REALTOR® Member Offices and supervised by a REALTOR® Member. Then follow these steps:
- Apply for REALTOR® Membership
- Pay the application fee and the pro-rated dues
- Complete the Orientation Process
- Pay the pro-rated SentriLock Service fees
- Be approved by the NMAR Board of Directors (you do not need to be present for this, it is a formality at the Board Meeting)
- Attend the in-person New Member Session and the Induction Ceremony (recommended but not required)
Once you've completed steps 1-4 we'll send your information to the staff at Montana Regional MLS, so you can onboard with them. Then your name will be put on a list to be approved by the NMAR Board of Directors. The final steps of our process you'll be invited to an in-person New Member Session and a New Member Induction Ceremony. At the Ceremony you'll receive your REALTOR® pledge and your REALTOR® pin.

Member Status Change - Moving Offices?
Moving offices or changing your license status can get pretty confusing when you don't know the steps. It doesn't matter which Broker emails us, just so long as someone emails us with a request so that we can send out the appropriate email/paperwork. Please send all emails to info@nmar.com.
If the agent is changing offices.
- The New Supervising Broker needs 'pull' the agent to be under their supervision. This is done on the Montana Board of Realty Regulation website.
- As soon as NMAR is informed, we will send a form to the new Designated REALTOR® to change the agent's status.
- Once the completed Change Form has been received by NMAR, staff will process the change. All changes will be processed within 3 business days.
- NMAR will send the updated information to the staff at Montana Regional MLS (Matrix) who will update their system.

Transaction Desk
Montana Regional MLS has let NMAR know that there's been a change in how agent files are released in Transaction Desk.
If I am a Broker, do I need to transfer my agent's Contracts?
- It is up to each brokerage whether a transferring agent's contracts move with them to their new brokerage. When an agent switches brokerages, their files do not automatically move with them. Releasing brokers now need to manually release their contract info]
How do I transfer these Agent Files in Transaction desk?
- Lonewolf/Transaction desk has a guide that will help you along this process. Read the Instructions.
Where do I find this Feature?
- Turn this feature on and off via the Broker Tools --> Office Settings --> Transaction Transfer
