Why Work With a REALTOR®?

"REALTOR®" and "real estate agent" are often used interchangeably, especially in a residential transaction. But there's a real difference, one you'll feel in every action, every piece of research, and every step of the process. A REALTOR® is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, bound by the professional standards of a 100-year-old Code of Ethics.

A REALTOR® must be an honest representative, communicate clearly, cooperate with other REALTORS®, and maintain a high level of education, all required by the Code of Ethics. When you're buying or selling, look for a REALTOR®. No one else offers that same standard of service.

NAR's national "Right by you" campaign is a promise to consumers: REALTORS® bring expertise, professionalism, and a Code of Ethics that puts clients first, protecting you through the biggest financial transaction you may ever make. For 2026, the campaign's "More Than Opening Doors" initiative shows exactly how REALTORS® do it, well beyond the property search.
