Public Relations in real estate goes beyond media outreach. It's about uplifting the brand, building community connections, and strengthening the REALTOR® brand. As our industry continues to evolve— just ask a REALTOR® who has been in this industry for 20 years what has changed, and you will get a whole lot more than you bargained for - we too need to pivot with fresh perspectives to better articulate the value of having a REALTOR® by your side.
The PR Committee is looking for innovative doers and thoughtful thinkers. You'll help develop engagement strategies, provide input to the Communications Director and Public Affairs Director, and explore local sponsorship opportunities. Our work spans from digital and print initiatives to community events like the Annual Golf Tournament and Christmas for Kids, all aimed at increasing REALTOR® visibility and community involvement. Becoming a driving force behind REALTOR® visibility and community impact.
Expectations:
- Come to eight meetings per year
- Bring thoughtful and innovative ideas to advertise the REALTOR® Brand
- Be willing to volunteer time to help shape NMAR's Events

Why I joined the Public Relations Committee?

I joined PR Committee by chance. I wanted to help out at Christmas time and someone told me there was a meeting and I have been going ever since.
I love being a part of this committee because we do give back to our community. I see firsthand how it helps those in need and warms my heart. The time I went to drop off all of the presents to the Case workers we were all in tears. Helping a community member with firewood for the winter, again we were all in tears. I know we help so many and we don't always get to see their reaction and thanks but I know it helps others in time of need. And we all need help at times.

Joining the Public Relations committee at NMAR has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me. The committee focuses on two key areas: supporting our local community and enhancing the visibility of our profession. I’m deeply passionate about both, and I love collaborating with my fellow REALTORS and affiliates to uplift our community. My time on the committee has allowed me to connect with some truly generous individuals, and it’s inspiring to see how we, as a REALTOR community, can make a significant impact together.

As someone relatively new to the real estate industry at the time, I saw this as a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow agents, network, and build relationships with the colleagues I would be working alongside.
In addition, I’ve always had a passion for community involvement and giving back, joining this committee was a perfect fit for me. Through our efforts, we not only educate the public about the real estate industry but also raise funds for our Charitable Foundation, allowing us to witness firsthand how the money we raise directly impacts those less fortunate in our community.
