About NMAR's Committees
NMAR is governed and operated by its members for the benefit of its members. As a member, you have a voice in the Association and are encouraged to participate as much as your time and talents allow.

Here's what you should know:
- Committee members typically serve terms ranging from one year to two year terms
- Most Committees meet Monthly or a set amount of times per year.
- Committee positions are open to ALL REALTORS®
- Afffiliate Members can join the Government Affairs Committee, Public Relations Committee, and Your Professional Network.
- Members may join a committee at any time throughout the year, however positions run from October 1st to September 31st
- If you are interested in serving on a committee, we recommend you first attend an upcoming meeting as a guest.

Government Affairs Committee

Real Estate can be affected by bad legislation. This committee focuses and meets about State Legislation and local government actions that affect the real estate industry.
This committee meets 8 times per year.
Your Professional Network
Chair: Khrysta Turk

This Committee focuses on providing opportunities for professionals new to the business to network, organize events, and support local non-profits through our events.
Meeting Times: First Tuesday of the month at 1:30pm.
Professional Development Committee

This Committee focuses all its efforts on professional development such as which instructors are brought in to teach, running classes, proctoring classes, and listening to feedback from our attendees.
Meeting Time: Monthly on the Second Tuesday at 1:30pm
REALTOR® Political Action Committee

This local RPAC committee is committed to increase voluntary REALTOR® involvement by actively and effectively participating in call to actions and supporting candidates who support real estate industry issues. A truly purple political action committee.
Meeting Times: This committee meets every second Tuesday of the month at 11:00am.
Public Relations Committee
Chair: Kelly Siblerud
Vice-Chair: Nancy Nicholson
Staff Liaison: Nathan MacGregor
This committee is focused on promoting the REALTOR® image in many spheres of influences whether that is organizing volunteer events, sponsoring activities, or discussing advertising opportunities.
Meeting Times: Meet 8 times a year typically on the third Wednesday of the Month at 12:00pm.
Professional Standards Committee
Ombuds & Mediation

Board Rep: Jeri Moon
Ombuds and Mediators are trained separately from the Professional Standards Training and are appointed to mediate disputes. The NMAR Board of Directors ratify decisions of the Hearing Panel, and therefore, need the Professional Standards Training as well.

Hearing Subcommittee
Hearing Panel - The function of a Hearing Panel is to listen to the complainant and respondent and, following the hearing, will meet in executive session to determine if a violation has occurred or if an arbitrable dispute is awarded.

Grievances Subcommittee
The function of the Grievance Committee is to provide preliminary review of ethics cases and arbitration requests. Three to five Realtors are selected from the committee and operate as a “screening” committee. They determine if the facts are true, is it a possible.
