Claire Brenneman

Today is the day. NMAR Community is officially live, and we could not be more excited to share it with you.

If you have been an NMAR member for any length of time, you know Member Connect. You also probably know its quirks. Maybe you stopped getting emails from a group and had no idea why. Maybe you were not sure which group to post something in, or you found yourself sifting through a tangled email chain trying to find one piece of information.

We heard you. And we did something about it.

Why We Are Making This Change

The honest answer is that Member Connect was built for a different era. It was functional, but it was not built for the way our members actually communicate today. Subscribing to groups required navigating a system that was not always intuitive, and even when you did everything right, the email experience could be inconsistent and confusing.

We wanted something better. Something that felt less like a chore and more like a community.

NMAR Community is that something better. It is built right into your Member Portal and designed around three simple ideas:

One place to subscribe. Instead of hunting through a complicated system, you manage all of your group subscriptions in one spot under My Subscriptions in the Member Portal. Check the box, hit save, and you are in.

One feed for conversations. Instead of email chains that spiral out of control, every group conversation happens in a threaded feed, kind of like Facebook. You post, people reply, and everything stays in one tidy place.

One daily digest email. Instead of a flood of individual emails throughout the day, you get one digest email each morning that summarizes everything that happened across all of your groups. You know exactly what is going on without your inbox paying the price.

We think once you have been in here for a week, you will wonder how we managed without it.

What Is Happening to Member Connect

⚠️ Important: Member Connect will be turned off on August 1st, 2026.

Member Connect is not disappearing overnight. You have until August 1st to get yourself set up in NMAR Community, subscribe to your groups, and get comfortable with the new platform before the old one goes dark.

We want to make sure nobody falls through the cracks during this transition. That is why we are giving you time, a library of how-to videos (linked at the bottom of this post), and a team at the NMAR office who is ready to help if you hit a snag.

Most of the groups you were subscribed to in Member Connect have all been recreated in NMAR Community. In some cases, we streamlined and consolidated them to make things cleaner and easier to navigate. You will find all the same conversations, just in a better home.

Get Started in Five Steps

Getting set up in NMAR Community is genuinely simple. Here is all you need to do.

1 Log Into Your Member Portal

Head to your NMAR Member Portal and log in as usual. Once you are in, look for the Community tile on your dashboard and click it. The first time you visit, you will see a quick terms of use pop-up. Read through it, accept it, and you are in. You will only ever see that once.

2 Set Up Your Community Profile

Right after accepting the terms, you will be prompted to set up your profile. Add a photo, your title and company, your county or area (Flathead, Lincoln, or Lake), and a short bio. It takes less than two minutes and makes a big difference in how connected you feel in here. People want to know who they are talking to.

3 Subscribe to Your Groups

This is the most important step. Your groups do not appear automatically in Community. You need to subscribe to them first through My Subscriptions in the Member Portal. Find the groups you want, check the boxes, hit save, and they will immediately appear in your Community feed. Start with your tour group and any committees you are on, then explore from there.

4 Explore Your Feed and Groups

Once your groups are subscribed, head back into Community. Your home feed will show you recent activity from all of your groups in one place. Use the left sidebar to jump into specific groups. Browse around, get a feel for the layout, and see what your colleagues are already talking about.

5 Make Your First Post

Jump in and introduce yourself. Head into your tour group or REALTOR Only and say hello. The community is only as strong as the people in it, and that means you. When you post, use tags like #OnTour or #ListingDetail to help colleagues find your content quickly. Not sure which tag to use? Check out the how-to videos below.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

Your daily digest email will kick in automatically once you are subscribed to at least one group. By default it arrives once a day and summarizes all the new activity across your groups.

If you are on a committee, your committee group is already set up and waiting for you. Some committee groups are managed by NMAR staff, so if you are not sure whether you need to subscribe yourself or be added manually, just give us a call and we will sort it out.

And finally, if you are an Affiliate member, make sure you check out Affiliate Spotlight. It is your dedicated space to share your services and connect with the REALTORS across Northwest Montana who want to know about what you offer.

We Are Really Glad You Are Here

This community has always been one of the best things about being an NMAR member. Over 1,300 REALTORS and Affiliates across Flathead, Lincoln, and Lake Counties, all doing incredible work in one of the most beautiful markets in the country. NMAR Community is just a better way to bring that network to life.

Thank you for being part of it. We cannot wait to see the conversations you start.

See you in there,

NMAR Staff
